The Shepherds - Final Nativity design in a five-year series.

Thomas Blackshear created The Nativity exclusively for The Blackshear Circle collector club. Since 1997, the club has introduced emotionally impactful sculptures, but none more powerful than the five-year Nativity series. Shedding a new perspective on this biblical scene, Thomas Blackshear captures the reverence and tender emotion of this spiritual event. Released in the fall of 2007, the series concludes in December 2012.

The fifth and final release in The Nativity collection, The Shepherds gaze in awe and wonderment at the Christ child. Their humble presence along side kings and the heavenly angel foretells the significance of the baby's birth for mankind on earth. As stated in Luke 2:10, "The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people."
